Jennifer Lentz, Ph.D.

Passionate and accomplished professional, looking to leverage my scientific, technical, and professional experience to facilitate creating a more climate resilient world. I am an honest, self-motivated, hard-working, collaborative individual who is resourceful and knowledgeable about a variety of environmental issues affecting local communities and ecosystems. Dedicated to working with communities, stakeholders, governments, and scientists to develop and implement resilient strategies that facilitate not only surviving the current and future impacts of climate change, but thriving through the creation of healthier, more efficient, and sustainable communities that are prepared for anything that comes their way. In April 2020 I joined the Coalition for Clean Air (CCA) as their new CLEAR Program Manager.

Prior to that, I spent the last 7 years, working at a local non-profit using GIS and citizen/community science to develop interactive ways to connect people of all ages to the ecology of the surrounding world, to create environmentally aware and engaged communities. I co-authored the 2015 report commissioned by Mayor Garcia advising him on how to make Long Beach the model of a climate resilient city. Following this report, I developed successful climate resilient community outreach and social media programs, and have been working closely with the City of Long Beach on their Climate Action and Adaptation Plan (CAAP) and sustainability measures, and participating in the LA “Our County” Sustainability workshops.

I have LEED Green Associate and EcoDistricts AP credentials, recently served on the Association of Energy Engineers Southern California (AEE SoCal) chapter's Board of Directors, and am currently serving a 3-year term on LA County's Significant Ecological Area Technical Advisory Committee (SEATAC), and the 2021 National Adaptation Forum's "Equity & Climate Justice Working Group."
